2010 Las Vegas Fun Fly

Here in beautiful Las Vegas the action has been non-stop since Thursday afternoon! With lots of pilots like Curtis, Nick Maxwell, Bert Kammerer, Kyle Dahl, Marcus Kim, Bobby Watts, Daniel Jetchin and a host of others you won’t find so many big names at any other event except IRCHA. New YS 91

There has been lots of buzz and speculation surrounding the release of a new more powerful YS engine as of late and the rumors are correct.

I recently received a the new prototype YS 91 which I had the opportunity to fly this past week, with over 30 flights in 2 days I am extremely pleased with its performance.

Immediately I noticed the power increase over the SR and how smooth the motor runs at idle as well as in the air. Testing has been with the Hatori SB-19 and Rotor Rage 30% fuel.

So far there is no name for the motor but once the name is available I will be sure to update you. The new engine is slated to be released late Spring or early Summer.

In the meantime here are a few pictures of the new motor, you will notice that it looks very similar to the SR on the outside.

Check out the awesome coverage of our event in the latest issue of RC Heli Mag! Chuck and the guys did a great job capturing the true fun and spirit of the event! The OHB was the largest helicopter only fun fly in the US, next to IRCHA. There are some great pics of everyone at the event including yours truly!

Axiom 720 Flybarless

Here’s a quick video I did today, I had hoped to make it a bit longer but for that I would need to fly just a bit higher. None the less the Axiom is rocking and now that it’s all dialed in it feels extremely good. Having flown several other systems, I would definitely rank the Axiom pretty high on the list.
